Come Visit Us

The National Helicopter Museum will begin this season on Monday, Memorial Day and will then be open Wednesday to Sunday, 1:00 – 04:00 PM, thru mid-October.

The Museum features a model of the first helicopter flight in Stratford in 1939, an actual Sikorsky S-76 cockpit and a computer based helicopter flight simulator.

This is a free Museum, although donations are appreciated.

Where to Find Us


The Museum is located at the Stratford, Connecticut Eastbound Railroad Station, at 2480 Main Street.

Hours: Friday through Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 pm from Memorial Day to mid-October. No appointment is necessary. COVID safe practices are in place.

Free parking; handicapped accessible.

Annual Presentation

The Museum annually features a presentation. For an example of past appearances, click here to enjoy the photos from Tom Lawrence’s, Sept. 17, 2013, topic, “A Look and Discussion of Every Helicopter Model designed by Igor Sikorsky.

Tom, a retired Sikorsky Engineer, covered numerous airplanes and helicopters designed by Igor Sikorsky, including information on the many ships that were never actually built (S-57, S-63) etc.
